  • ✓Cut open at the back — your tailbone sits over the opening instead of pressing into the seat.
  • ✓Honeycomb gel, not foam — the open cells flex under you and spread your weight across the cushion.
  • ✓Air moves through it — the cells are open top to bottom, so it doesn't trap heat like a solid pad.
  • ✓One cushion, every chair — 16 × 13 × 2 inches fits most office, dining and car seats.
  • ✓Nothing to inflate, nothing to leak — one piece of gel. Pick it up and take it to the next chair.

This is a seat cushion for comfort, not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. If you have an injury or ongoing pain, ask your own doctor what is right for you.

WHY THE CUTOUT MATTERS

Two cushions dominate this category and they fall short for opposite reasons. Flat foam and gel pads cover the whole seat, so your tailbone still presses straight down into them every minute you sit. Donut rings lift the tailbone off, but you end up balanced on a circle that presses on everything around it.

The missing piece was never thickness. It was that nothing was cut away under the tailbone. Here the back of the cushion is open, so your thighs and hips carry you and the spot that takes all the weight gets a break.

SIZE AND MATERIAL

About 16″ wide × 13″ deep × 2″ tall, one piece of honeycomb gel with a tailbone cutout at the back.

We'll confirm exact dimensions and weight here once we've measured the cushions ourselves. We're not going to publish numbers we haven't checked.

HOW TO SET IT UP
  1. Opening toward the backrest, dipped edge toward your knees.
  2. Sit all the way back so your tailbone is right over the opening.
  3. It adds about 2″. In the car, lower the seat one notch.
  4. Gel feels firmer than foam at first. Give it a day or two to find your spot.

Three things change the first time you sit on it

Your tailbone stops taking the weight

The back of the cushion is cut open. Your tailbone sits over the gap, so your thighs and hips carry you instead of one small spot.

You stay in the chair longer

No more pushing up off the armrests an hour in. Finish the meeting, the drive, the dinner.

It goes where you sit

Office chair, car seat, couch, dining chair. One piece of gel, so you just pick it up and take it with you.

COMPARE BEFORE YOU BUY

*Compared against the two cushions people tell us they tried first: a flat square honeycomb gel pad (no cutout) and a solid memory foam cushion (cutout, but solid foam with no open cells for air).

Gel seat cushion on a living room armchair

HOW THIS PAGE WAS WRITTEN

We started from the complaints, not from a catalogue.

Almost nobody buys this cushion first. They buy it second — after a foam pad goes flat in a few weeks, or a donut ring turns out to press on everything around the one spot that needed a break.

So before choosing anything, we read what people wrote after they had already bought something else. The complaint that repeats most is not about softness. It is that the tailbone still takes the weight, and that the cushion squashes down by the afternoon.

That is why we looked for a cushion that is cut open at the back and made of open gel cells instead of foam — and where we have not measured something ourselves, we say so on the page instead of writing it anyway.

Everything a long day of sitting throws at you

Pushing up off the armrests

(an hour in, you're shifting your weight off the seat again)

►

One spot taking all the weight

(on a flat seat your tailbone presses straight down every minute you sit)

►

Foam that goes flat

(by the afternoon the cushion is squashed and you're back on the hard seat)

►

◄

Long drives, short stops

(two hours in, you're walking laps at the rest stop)

◄

Leaving the table early

(up from dinner before dessert. Again.)

◄

Donut rings that press everywhere else

(the ring lifts the tailbone and presses on everything around it)

Why a flat cushion cannot do this — and what changes when the spot under your tailbone is left open.

1. The open back

1. The open back

  • Your tailbone sits over the opening, not on the seat
  • Your thighs and hips carry your weight instead
  • Opening faces the backrest, dipped edge toward your knees

Why it matters:

On a flat seat the tailbone is the one point that never gets a break. Opening the cushion under it is the whole job.

2. The honeycomb gel

2. The honeycomb gel

  • Open cells flex under you and come back
  • Spreads the load across the whole cushion
  • Air moves through the cells, top to bottom

Why it matters:

Foam squashes down where you press hardest and stays there. Gel cells flex under your weight and spring back when you stand.

3. One cushion, every chair

3. One cushion, every chair

  • Office chair, car seat, couch, dining chair
  • 16 × 13 × 2 inches fits most seats
  • Nothing to inflate, nothing to leak

Why it matters:

The pressure doesn't stop when you leave your desk. The cushion goes with you to the car and the dinner table.

HOW TO SET IT UP IN 4 STEPS:

1
Opening toward the backrest
The cut-open end goes at the back of the seat, the dipped edge toward your knees.
2
Sit all the way back
Your tailbone should sit right over the opening.
3
Lower the seat a notch if you need to
It adds about 2 inches. In the car, drop the seat one notch.
4
Give it a day or two
Gel feels firmer than foam at first. Give it a couple of days to find your spot.
FAQ

Questions people ask before they buy

Which way does it go?

Opening toward the backrest, the dipped edge toward your knees. Your tailbone should sit right over the opening.

Will it fit my chair?

It is about 16″ wide and 13″ deep, which fits most office, dining and car seats. On a very wide recliner it sits in the middle.

Will it make me sit too high?

It adds about 2″. If you are under 5′2″ or drive a low car, lower the seat one notch.

Is the gel hard?

It feels firmer than foam at first. The cells flex under your weight. Give it a day or two to find your spot.

Is it hot to sit on?

The gel cells are open top to bottom, so air can move through instead of being trapped like in a solid foam pad. We are not calling it cooling until we have tested that ourselves.

Will it help my back or sciatica?

It is a comfort cushion, not a medical device. What it does is take pressure off the tailbone while you sit. If you have pain or an injury, ask your own doctor.

Should I get two?

One for the desk chair, one for the car — or one for Mom & Dad. The 2-pack works out to $68 each, the 4-pack to $53 each.

What if it is not right for me?

You have 90 days from the day it arrives. Sit on it, decide, and if it is not right for you email hungthuhang2k3@gmail.com with your order number and we refund you in full. Shipping in the US is free on every order.
